Most car manufacturers in India have completed their launches for this year. Over the last 10 months, manufacturers introduced most of their models, and many of them have already begun deliveries. While the newly launched models are performing well, the manufacturers have already started preparing for next year. SUVs are quite popular in the Indian market, and here we have a list of five such seven-seater SUVs expected to be launched in the market next year.
Nissan X-Trail
Nissan showcased several cars in India last year, and the Nissan X-Trail was one of them. The brand officially announced that they would be bringing the all-new X-Trail to India. This is a 7-seater SUV that will compete with the likes of the MG Gloster and Toyota Fortuner in its segment.
Internationally, the Nissan X-Trail is available in both 5 and 7-seater configurations. The SUV comes with a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine and an 11.5-liter hybrid petrol engine. The hybrid version of the SUV is most likely to be launched in India. It remains to be seen whether Nissan will launch the AWD, 2WD, or both versions of the SUV in India.
Alcazar Facelift
Hyundai launched the Alcazar 7-seater SUV a few years ago. It’s actually an extended version of the Hyundai Creta that competes with cars like the Tata Safari. While the competition has already received updates, Hyundai is still working on one for the Alcazar. Test mules have been spotted testing. The Alcazar is expected to come with changes like a redesigned grille, LED DRLs, headlamps, redesigned tail lamps, revised bumpers, and more.
The SUV will continue to offer the same amount of features, and perhaps even more, as before. The Hyundai Alcazar is expected to be launched in the market sometime early next year. It will use the same 1.5-liter turbo petrol and 1.5-liter turbo diesel engine options with manual and automatic transmission options.
Mahindra Thar 5-door
Another anticipated product from Mahindra is the Thar 5-door. Several test mules have been spotted on the road, and the manufacturer is expected to launch it next year. Recent test mules of the Thar 5-door have hinted that the SUV might come with a third-row seat. The Mahindra Thar will be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. It will get a 2.0-liter turbo petrol and 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine. The state of tune of these engines will be different from the 3-door Thar. Mahindra will also offer 2WD and 4×4 versions of this SUV to make it more accessible.
Force Gurkha 5-door
Just like Mahindra, Pune-based Force Motors has also been working on a 5-door version of their 4×4 SUV Gurkha. The SUV has been spotted several times. It is a thoroughly reworked version of the 3-door version with a longer wheelbase and 3-row seats. The SUV is expected to get the same Mercedes-sourced 2.6-liter four-liter diesel engine, which comes paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox and the four-wheel-drive system as standard. Force is expected to launch this SUV sometime next year.
Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus
Mahindra recently launched the Bolero Neo Plus in the market. However, it is currently available only as an ambulance. The civilian version of the Bolero Neo Plus is expected to launch next year. This is actually an extended three-row version of the Bolero Neo that is already available for sale. Unlike the regular Bolero Neo, the Plus version of the Bolero Neo would be powered by a 2.2-liter turbocharged diesel engine. The power and torque figures on this SUV is 120 Ps and 280 Nm. The SUV will be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox only.
