After months of waiting, the New Balance 1906L ‘Black’ is now officially official. The Boston sportswear company’s latest sneaker/loafer/snoafer colourway, keeps the same divisive design that went mega viral earlier this year, and this version is actually, well… kinda wearable.
As you might’ve already guessed, the 1906L is based on the classic 1906R that made a comeback in 2022. It works on top of the same mesh base, and it’s overlaid by panels and panels of leather throughout. However, unlike the super shiny ‘Gray’ that popped up earlier this month, the ‘Black’ keeps things nice and matte, just like what you’d find on a regular pair of loafers.
However, unlike a regular pair of loafers, this one features a glossy heel counter around the back for added support. It rests on top of a beefy midsole that’s infused with N-Ergy tech for extra comfort and cushioning, and while New Balance could’ve just left it all-black, they’ve dipped it in very dark green instead. Because, why not? If you’re gonna go weird, you might as well take it all the way.
