Yes, Walton Goggins Really Launched an Eyewear Line Called ‘Goggins Goggles’

Anyone with an eye on the red carpet at GQ’s recent Men of the Year Party would have a hard time missing Walton Goggins, who arrived decked out in a wide-lapelled tuxedo jacket, an unbuttoned sheer black shirt, and a pair of 1980s retro-futuristic wraparound shades. The look—which deftly married elements of black-tie, western, and sci-fi—was on-point for the event’s American Rodeo theme and just the latest in a series of increasingly freaky fits for the Fallout star. Fortunately for anyone looking to borrow a page from Goggins’ style playbook, it also turned out to be a sneak preview of his newest pet project: Walton Goggins Goggle Glasses.

While the name sounds like something “Baby” Billy Freeman would shill on late-night QVC, Goggins’ eyewear line comes with a provenance worthy of a beloved character actor turned moodboard style god. Produced with the help of Revo, the legendary 1980s sunglasses brand founded by a NASA scientist, Goggins’ eponymous shades are fitted with polarized UVA/UVB protected lenses, all the better to protect your peepers from harmful rays (and apparently also onions) along with fully adjustable straps for a superlatively comfy fit. Available in five signature styles with names like “La Tortuga,” “Limoncello,” and “Momma’s Skillet,” and priced at $150 apiece, each pair of goggles also comes with a set of arms that can replace the straps for a slightly less avant-garde look.

“I love to make bold choices, both with the characters I play but also with fashion, but as I searched for sunglasses, I could not find anything truly unique and versatile,” says Goggins, whose canny sense of style both onscreen and off has made him a GQ regular over the last decade. The search for the perfect pair of shades, Goggins explains, led him to develop his own line, found an eyewear brand, and discover a previously unknown affinity for accessory design. “Walton Goggins Goggle Glasses is funny to say, but I’m totally serious about sharing this brand with the world.” It’s an unexpected move for a guy who’s built a career playing lovable weirdos onscreen. But then again, maybe it’s exactly what we ought to expect from one of Hollywood’s most consistently surprising—and impeccably turned-out—actors.
