Each year on the first Monday in May, hotel suites across Manhattan turn into bustling Met Gala workshopsâpart atelier, part salon, part war roomâas celebrities, fashion brands, and their respective teams go into overdrive assembling the intricate ensembles that will grace the Met steps at the Costume Instituteâs annual soiree. Then, at last, itâs time for the postgame: After the main event, but before retreating home to de-glam for the evening, the celebs hit the glitzy party circuit.
Last night, the best-dressed VIPs changed into their afters finest and headed to The GQ Party at The Twenty Two, the Manhattan outpost of the posh London hotel-slash-membersâ-club. Tucked in an intimate corner of the hotelâs Café Zaffri was our very own photo studio, where photographer Tyrell Hampton shot playful portraits of the nightâs biggest stars as they goofed around on a real-deal king-size bed. Partygoers were invited to don their boudoir-adjacent accessories of choiceâsilk sleep masks, suit-clad teddy bears, or luxe shades from Jacques Marie Mage, Ahlem, or Cutler and Grossâand romp around atop the covers.
In The GQ Party portrait studio, Zendaya palled around with her longtime friend and stylist, Law Roach, who described the scene as the one event of the night âwhere you really get to let your hair down.â Met Gala co-host Colman Domingo took a much-deserved breather. Walton Goggins and his wife, Nadia Connors, got cozy. Emma Chamberlain caught some Zs. Anok Yai jumped on the bed in a full Thom Browne look. Blackpinkâs Rosé contemplated room service.
