If you were able to see through the cloud of Timothée Chalamet lookalikes at Milan Fashion Week, you may have been glad to spot John Turturro, character actor par excellence, who made a runway cameo at Zegna’s fall 2025 menswear show. Walking among a surreal indoor set of grassy green hills, the Severance actor wore loose-legged trousers, a sloping V-neck sweater layered over two striped button-up shirts, and a fur-trimmed tweed coat.
In a backstage interview with The New York Times, Turturro acknowledged the Zegna neatly manicured runway’s uncanny similarity to a goat-filled set from Severance’s second season, which is currently airing on Apple TV+. While the fashion show marked Turturro’s first foray into the world of modeling, the actor’s relationship with Zegna goes back at least to last August, when he attended a dinner for the Italian luxury label during New York Fashion Week. Several months later, in December, Turturro sat courtside at a Knicks game with Severance’s executive producer Ben Stiller, who has also directed many of the show’s episodes. Both men were dressed entirely in unassuming Zegna clothes.
Zegna, a leader among the rarefied brands who comprise fashion’s “quiet luxury” genus, has found a smart niche in dressing Hollywood’s distinguished, but still heartthrobby, veterans. The label’s most prominent celebrity ambassador is the 59-year-old Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen, and it’s worth noting that Turturro, 67, was one of the many salt-and-pepper-haired models to grace Zegna’s runway on Monday.
Indeed, the practice of hiring beloved, seasoned character actors to make runway cameos has become a trend in itself these last few seasons. In October, Willem Dafoe modeled for Prada’s sister brand Miu Miu, while Walking Dead star Norman Reedus previously walked (alive) for Yohji Yamamoto.
“You would feel that at my age you don’t get new experiences,” Turturro told the Times after the show. “This was a new experience for me.”
