Last night, Louis Partridge touched down in Venice for the premiere of his new series Disclaimer. The headlines will record that this was the actor’s debut red carpet moment with his girlfriend, singer Olivia Rodrigoâphotos of which were met with a chorus of Twitter stans chiming âWelcome back Bella and Edwardâ (Twilight references still hit a decade later, who knew!)
But more interesting to us was Partridge’s breezy suit, which evoke another mega, albeit slightly older cultural reference: the â90s leading man heartthrob suit.
Continuing Veniceâs unspoken tie-less trend, Partridge kitted out in a Prada fit consisting of a single-breasted wool blazer, worn over a yellow shirt. Itâs a suit that doesnât seem all that interesting on paper, but allow us to point out a few salient details: the poplin shirt, left untucked to peek out of the bottom of the blazer, the peak-y collar worn over the lapels. The suit itself is actually made of an ultra-fine kid melange mohairâmelange meaning itâs made of several different colors woven togetherâyou can see that slightly streaky effect here, in his grooming closeup.

Speaking of grooming, Partridge clearly decided to commit, full chested, to the â90s vibe. Slicking his hair back with a little more gusto than usual, Partridge let those sideburns climb down a little further, and added a pair of Prada round-lensed sunglasses.
Partridgeâs stylist, Chris Brown, shared that the custom suit was inspired by the OG heartthrobs, the likes of Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio, whoâs boyish charm and nonchalant styling ruled the red carpet in the â90s.
And given Partridgeâs career trajectory, not to mention his now-confirmed pop-star partner, itâs a fitting reference if ever there was one.
