Daniel Craig is so done with Bond. Let the legacy be put to rest, with an extra heavy coffin lid on top. But if the actor were to step back into the franchise again (which—again—he most definitely would not), we think he’d make a pretty solid Q instead.
At the 2025 Golden Globes in LA last night, Craig went for a Giorgio Armani suit that was much more professorial than espionage. That meant a black velvet two-piece, featuring a double-breasted jacket and straight-leg trousers. A crisp white dress shirt and a black silk tie nicely rounded things out.
For accessories, Craig wore an ultra-shiny pair of patent lace-ups, a gorgeous gold 42mm Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional (because he’s still Daniel Craig), and another pair of the tinted specs he’s been gravitating towards lately.
Of course, there’s nothing all that crazy about a black velvet suit—especially on an LA red carpet, practically the ancestral homeland of black velvet suits. What’s notable is the way Craig’s suit fit. Rather than cinching dramatically at the waist, the silhouette was relaxed with a nice drape. The shoulders were natural and unstructured; the trousers were roomy, puddling slightly over the shoes.
In short: this wasn’t a super tight, slick suit for a spy. This was a comfortable and well-crafted suit for a knowing tech genius. Don’t think Ben Whishaw and his cardigans and rain jackets. Think the eternal Desmond Llewelyn in Savile Row three-piece suits, his hair slicked back, an exploding pen proffered. Daniel Craig should form an orderly Q.
